1-Siats

The first on the list was a predator, with a very interesting name - Siats - they named it after a man-eating monster from the mythology of the Indian people of Utah. And I want to warn you right away that there is very little information on dinosaurs, especially little-known ones, sometimes it reaches two or three lines.

And the difficulty with this dinos was at the very beginning, and now I will tell you why. This dinosaur was discovered in 2013, one might say, almost "recently." Some bones were found. Five dorsal and eight caudal vertebrae, a chevron, a partially preserved right ilium, a sciatic and fibula, a partial left tibia, and several right and left phalanges of the toes. At first, I did not betray this value, and went to look for the skeleton of the siat, because seeing the skeleton, it is easier to understand the warehouse and shape of the animal. But! I did not find it, but only a drawing of the approximate shape of this dinosaur with found bones inscribed inside, of which there are very few.
Therefore, I literally took up the reconstruction of this dinosaur. I learned that he, like most, consists of a combined hodgepodge - that is, a lot of people are mixed in it. Here are the makings of the first Allosaurus, and Megoraptor, and Carnosaurus, and Neovenatorida, and Coelurosaurus, and even Tyrannosaurus. From all, a little Siats apparently picked up, because of which variants of his appearance began to spin in his head. But I started from that very picture with pieces of the skeleton, and there, for the most part, the shape was close to the Allosaurus, but the front legs are closer to the neovenatorids, powerful with large claws. But, due to the fact that Siats has a little of coelurosaurs, there are a lot of arts where he has down, feathers and even a feather mane. I did not begin to portray this, because I could not understand the purpose of all these lotions, although in the version from Jurassic Park I liked these kind of needles on the head and neck - such things could well have a demonstrative role, to intimidate competitors when protecting the territory or trying to squeeze out a piece for myself meat.
This dinos probably had Keratin, his races had the makings of a Tyrannosaurus and he was recognized in North America as the geologically youngest allosaurid from this continent. But it is not clear how pronounced his keratin is, there is no skull. And therefore, based on the same picture with the approximate shape of a siatus, I also tend to believe that he had a head close to allosaurids, rather than massive like a tyrannosaurus. In addition, based on the size of the fibula, it clearly had smaller legs than a Tyrannosaurus rex.
It is also worth noting that the bones found belong to a young, not yet grown, individual. It is believed that Siats could grow up to the size of a large Tyrannosaurus.

Hence the conclusion that this predator did not differ in particular agility due to its size. Slow, but if he wanted to, he could speed up, but not run, because with a weight of a couple of elephants, the sitter would break his legs. And this means that he probably hunted from an ambush, and did not shy away from falling. Also, I think that the Siats could hunt in a small group for a large herbivore - I make such an assumption banal because this dinos has the makings of an allosaurus - and they, if necessary, could hunt in groups. But, since there is also little of coelurosaurs in it, this only reinforces the theory that the Siats could work in groups. If my memory serves me right, then coelurosaurs are social, so ...

Well, paleontology is a fun and challenging science. Because, today, you can paint the dinosaur you found in the way it is supposedly considered correct. But after a couple, or even a dozen years, a couple of missing bones from your find may appear, which will radically change the idea of this dinosaur.
But I liked to think and work on the reconstruction of the siatus. Although I see that it is far from ideal and is more close to the Acrocantosaurus, but the attempt is not torture.
