Karud- (representative of the predatory fauna) This creature leads a sedentary lifestyle. Long-liver, there were individuals who lived up to 30 years. Lives in a deep hole, which is surrounded by a free-flowing funnel - something similar to an ant lion's trap house. Karudi is hermaphrodite, carries both masculine and feminine principles.
Very hardy and patient animals, able to wait for months when unlucky prey falls into their trap.
Karudi sees poorly, but sees sharp movements well. This does not prevent her from perfectly identifying the fact that someone was in her lair. With her long, body-like caterpillar, carcass, she perfectly feels the vibrations - which helps to understand where and at what distance a potential victim is moving.
Karudi, not shy, is a very aggressive creature. Which is very clearly manifested during the catching of prey.
Ras at the age of 6, the Karudi eggs ripen, and she makes a large clutch of thousands of eggs, which she attaches to the ceiling of her burrow. Such a large number of eggs is due to the fact that Karudi larvae are, in essence, easy prey, and a large osprey of cubs has a better chance of surviving. Also, these larvae are very healthy food. After eating one such baby, you will get an incredible supply of strength and energy (one such larva will be enough for you for the whole day - it is very useful on long hikes), and all because these larvae are filled with protein and all possible vitamins in large quantities - this is all for so that the larva does not need food and grows as quickly as possible.
In this regard, the Kendarii even have a very dangerous trade - the prey of Karudi larvae. With the help of smoke, Karudi is euthanized for a while, and then its eggs are collected. One dried larva costs from 1 silver accord, to two - by our standards - 1000r or 2000r.
Well, when the babies hatch, they crawl out of the parent's den and try to crawl as far as possible. Not everyone succeeds in this. Most of it is eaten by other wild animals, and the survivors, having found a secluded place, burrow deeper and sleep. They wake up when all their biological reserves are exhausted and the Karudi baby grows already into a 2-meter predator, which equips itself with its future hunting lair, in which it will live until its death.
